Dear SVWA Friends,
I will visit Silicon Valley Women ShinShin School in Sichuan , China and plan to departure on 12/29.
I call a cash donation ($5 or more) for all the kids who need our care. I have about 30 lb space left for any light weighted winter clothing or stationary if you have any for these students (6 - 12 yrs old).
I attended ShinShin Educational Foundation Event last Sunday, I was deeply touched to see what I have seen, we not only provided them an opportunity to have a classroom, we also give them an hope and created a dream for me.
Mr. Shao (ShinShin) visited many schools in the past few years in spite of he is over 80 years old. At one school, he asked a few students what they want to do when they grow up, one said, I want to be a doctor, another one said I want to work in a big company and make lots of money. One kids said, Grandpa Shao, I want to be like you, I’m going to build more schools and help all the children to get education. My tears just dropped and I felt that we have done a great job to build our school, but we can certainly do more.
We are very prod of SVWomen that we had done great jobs for Charity Fund raising in passed three years. In 2007, we, “Silicon Valley Women”, raised a total of $18,000 and met our goal of building our own “Silicon Valley ShinShin elementary school" in China !
I plan to visit two ShinShin schools during my trip.
