| SVWA is calling for your charity donations to Sichuan Earthquake Relief SVWA is calling for your charity donations to Sichuan Earthquake Relief Dear SVWA members and friends, Silicon Valley Women's Association( SVWA) is calling for your charity donations to Sichuan Earthquake Relief. An earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.8, struck close to densely populated areas of Sichuan shortly before 2:30 pm (0630 GMT) on Monday, May 12. The powerful earthquake toppled buildings, schools and chemical plants in central China, killing more than 15,000 people and trapping untold numbers in mounds of concrete, steel and earth in the country's worst quake in three decades. When we heard the news about earthquake in China on Monday morning, we were deeply moved. We understand the feeling of those families, who lost, or will lose, their loved ones. We want to help them, even though our help is very limited. However, if everyone helps just like they were our own families, the result will be huge... Let's do what we can help to those families in China. No matter how much we donate, $10, $100, or $1000, our donations will help tremendously those people who are suffering. Although the conditions of these schools are still unknown, Shin Shin is raising funds to rebuild schools in Sichuan.
